There are a variety of factors that can contribute to falsifying the conditions. The data gathered can be endless, so setting boundaries is important. An ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) is a tool used for analyzing data, which is a result of a one-way design, and certain assumptions. This technique is used to analyze the variation in the data to determine if more than two population means are equal. A one-way ANOVA has several different levels of one factor being studied and the objects or people being observed and/or measured are randomly assigned to one of the c levels of the factor. The three major assumptions of an ANOVA are as follows; the errors are random and independent of each other, all of the populations have the same variance, and each population has a normal distribution. My Air Force Career Essay Example For Students
My Air Force Career Essay I have had many important life experiences in my short thirty-two years on this earth thus far. Some have been enjoyable while others dreadful. There is one experience that has both of these aspects and has spanned over twelve years of my life-my Air Force career. I would it is one of the most important experiences in my life. During this time, I have seen the good and bad in the world along with learning about life and its lessons. This experience allowed me to grow up, travel the world, and meet amazing people. Growing up is hard to do. I went to college after high school, but dropped out not knowing what I wanted to do in life or get out of it. I do not believe four years in college makes anyone grow up, nor actually prepares them for life. I canââ¬â¢t speak for all though, not finishing my last three years. I can only speculate what my life could have been had I finished at twenty-three years old and entering the world as a college graduate. In lieu of college and being a ââ¬Å"bumâ⬠living at my parentsââ¬â¢ house, I decided to enlist in the United States Air Force. Although I did not join until I was twenty years old, unlike many whom are still teenagers, I was still young and immature. Being an Eagle Scout, I had some paramilitary bearing and ideals, but had no idea yet what I was getting myself into. It was a frightful experience leaving home for the first time and not truly knowing or understanding what to expect. Little did I know, I was embarking on a whole new life adventure full of unknown experiences. I realized this once I stepped on that plane to Texas and arrived at Lackland Air Force Base for Basic Military Training (Boot Camp). Upon arriving and as soon as you step off that bus, it is open season on you for the training Instructors. I was definitely not at home anymore! After six grueling weeks of being broke down and built back up, you think it is over and you made it. Wrong. That was only one step of the many days, weeks, and years to come of lessons and experiences in my career. As a child I had only ever been to Oregon and Nevada for family vacations. Not coming from a military family, I was the first to endure this adventure. After Boot Camp I spent time in Northern Texas then eventually received my orders to my first duty station. I was so excited and scared, where was I going to be sent? Hopefully one of the places I picked: Germany, England, Asianope, Albuquerque, New Mexico. I thought ââ¬Å"where the hell is that? â⬠One important life lesson I learned right then and there, you canââ¬â¢t always get what you want or what you ask for. Meanwhile, I was still excited to be going someplace new and unknown. I spent six years there and actually enjoyed it and was glad to have been sent there. From there I was able to go on work trips and deployments. I went to the east coast of Florida to support the Air Force mission. We would convoy across the south from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Cocoa Beach, Florida. In what other other job would I have been able to tour the south like that and at the employerââ¬â¢s expense? I was able to spend time in Iraq (twice), United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, England, Ireland, and Germany. Out of all those places, only Iraq was the scariest and most stressful. Having to arm up with a rifle and sidearm and wear body armor daily just to go to work and even the bathroom, was definitely eye opening experience. In all the places I have traveled I was able to connect to other Air Force and other military people. The majority of the individuals I have met are outstanding and we still keep in touch to this day. Like I mentioned before about seeing the good and bad, that is relevant to people I have met too. The vast majority of everyone relates somehow because we all have shared experiences or are in the same shitty location (i. e. Iraq). Granted we may not all be best friends, but we learn to get along and come together to accomplish the mission. There is always that one guy, or gal, that can ruin it for everyone though. I have to say I learn from them of what not to be, especially if they are in a supervisory position. Since two thousand three, I have had huge life altering experiences. From when I left home to Basic Training to my last travel adventure of touring Germany and on to my new experience of being an Air Force Reservist. There are so many experiences that each experience has its own other experience within itself. It is somewhat mind boggling at actually how many experiences I have had from just enlisting in the U. S. Air Force. Even from this moment on, I can continue to have and make new, good and bad, life experiences by continuing to grow, by traveling, and meeting people.

Youââ¬â¢ve had a bad morning, youââ¬â¢re stressed out about something â⬠¦ but you still need to make your deadlines. Youââ¬â¢ll find that some days you may show up for work, and the creativity just isnââ¬â¢t there (this happens more than you think!). Now, listen to what Elizabeth Gilbert has to say. Sheââ¬â¢s the bestselling author of Eat, Pray, Love (which I havenââ¬â¢t read). This speech is long (about 20 minutes), but very interesting ââ¬â she talks about the history of writers and artists, the preponderance of mental illness and neurosis in creative types, and offers a new perspective on the creative process ââ¬â and why we should all give ourselves a break from time to time. --> For this writer, I really appreciated Elizabeth Gilbertââ¬â¢s analysis. Creative genius is an elusive thing ââ¬â it comes at certain times, and never when you expect it (at the gym, in the middle of a load of laundry, while youââ¬â¢re watching TV). You have to show up for work every day, but understand that your creative genius might not. Itââ¬â¢s something that can be hard to understand: why your first draft taglines just really arenââ¬â¢t good (at all). Whether youââ¬â¢re a copywriter, fiction writer, screenwriter, technical writer, playwright, a beginner or a seasoned expert, this is the duplicitous nature of the writer within us all that we have to deal with. Again, writing is one part hard work and one part art ââ¬â in reality, writers are workhorses. Can we expect writers to be genius all the time? Absolutely not ââ¬â as Elizabeth Gilbert points out. But when the creativity isnââ¬â¢t there, when your genius doesnââ¬â¢t show up for work when you do, sometimes you have to make up for it with good hard work. Or, just give yourself a break. Your genius will show up eventually, just maybe not today.

0.5 M EDTA Solution Recipe Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is used as a ligand and chelating agent. Its especially useful for sequestering calcium (Ca2) and iron (Fe3) metal ions. This is the lab recipe for 0.5 M EDTA solution at pH 8.0: Solution Materials 186.1 grams EDTA (disodium ethylenediamine tetraacetate2H2O)Ã 800 milliliters distilled watersodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution or solid (to adjust pH) Procedure Stir 186.1 g disodium ethylenediamine tetraacetate2H2O into 800 ml of distilled water.Stir the solution vigorously using a magnetic stirrer.Add NaOH solution to adjust the pH to 8.0. If you use solid NaOH pellets, youll need 18 to 20 grams of NaOH. Add the last of the NaOH slowly so that you dont overshoot the pH. You may wish to switch from solid NaOH to a solution toward the end for more precise control. The EDTA will slowly go into solution as the pH nears 8.0.Dilute the solution to 1 L with distilled water.Filter the solution through a 0.5 micron filter.Dispense into containers as needed and sterilize in an autoclave. This is a complicated question, and it depends on several factors that colleges will take into consideration. In this article, Iââ¬â¢ll give you some perspective on what a good GPA and a bad GPA are based on national statistics and your individual circumstances. Iââ¬â¢ll also provide advice on the best ways to improve your GPA. Your coursework and GPA are one of the most important pieces to your college application - some colleges consider it your MOST important factor - so make sure you do your research and know where you fit in. Whatââ¬â¢s a Good GPA Compared to the National Average? Nationally, the average unweighted high school GPA isabout a 3.0, which is a B average. If your GPA is above a 3.0, youââ¬â¢re most likely doing pretty well, but it all depends on how your school calculates GPA and what your ultimate goals are. Keep in mind that this is the average for all students in the country, which includes the 34% of high school students who don't go on to college. The average high school GPA for college-bound students is likely higher than a 3.0. This isnââ¬â¢t to say that everyone should try to take the highest-level classes in every subject.You donââ¬â¢t want to kill yourself with stress, and itââ¬â¢s good for most people to have one or two less rigorous classes. Butif there's a subject youââ¬â¢re really interested in or think you might want to pursue as a course of study in college, try and push yourself to take high-level classes.Even if it brings down your GPA a bit, it will demonstrate that you're a driven student who is willing to take risks to gain a better understanding of the subject.Taking progressively more challenging classes throughout high school, even if it doesnââ¬â¢t raise your GPA, makes your GPA ââ¬Å"betterâ⬠in the eyes of admissions officers because itââ¬â¢s hard-earned. Are you planning on attending your state school for a lower tuition price tag? Whatââ¬â¢s important to you in a college?At Harvard, for example, almost 90% of incoming freshmen have a GPA thatââ¬â¢s above a 3.75 (the average GPA is a 3.93), meaning a solid A average. Considering the standards of top schools, itââ¬â¢s likely that most of those GPAs were earned in the highest-level classes in high school. When you have this level of selectivity, students' coursework will be scrutinized just as closely as the numerical values of their GPAs; schools like Harvard are only looking for the top performing students in the highest-level classes. To give a slightly less selective example, at the University of Oregon the average GPA was a 3.6, meaning most students earned around a B+/A- average in high school. It's likely that the courseload of these students was also less challenging, so they may have taken a fair amount of mid-level or lower-level classes in the process of earning their GPAs. These are students that have solid grades but are not at the very top of their classes. You'll need to take a look at the average GPA for incoming freshmen at your colleges of choice to get a sense of where you need to be.Of course, this statistic isnââ¬â¢t the be-all and end-all. Some students with lower than average GPAs will be accepted, and some students with higher than average GPAs will be rejected.Itââ¬â¢s important to make sure youââ¬â¢re also looking at the other factors in conjunction with these statistics to figure out what the best GPA range is for you. Follow these steps to get a more solid idea of where you are and where you need to be. 1. Make a list of colleges you think you're interested in. Make notes on these statistics so you can refer to them later. To find the admission rate and average GPA at any school, Google "college name" + "admission requirements" + "PrepScholar". Compare your GPA to the average GPAs that you find at your schools.A good way to do this is with a chart, such as the blank one we've included below that you can fill in. Once you've found average GPAs, compare them to your own.Are you above or below average?Most schools will give you unweighted GPA statistics, so if your GPA is weighted make sure to take this into consideration. School Name Average GPA (Unweighted) Average GPA (Unweighted) 4. If you're above the average, that's great news! It most likely means that you have a good chance of admission. If you're below the average, you may still have a chance depending on how far off you are. This just means the school will probably be a reach for you. 5. As a last step, you should look at the admissions rates for your chosen colleges. Two schools may have very different admission rates but the same average GPAs. This means that the more selective school expects the same GPA but with more challenging coursework. If a school has an admissions rate of less than 20%, you can assume that you're expected to have a record of very challenging coursework in addition to meeting the average GPA standards. If the admissions rate is between 20 and 40% the school will expect somewhat challenging coursework. If the admissions rate is between 40 and 60%, the school will expect mid-level coursework, and if it's higher than 60% you will probably be able to get away with taking a fair amount of lower level classes as long as your GPA is still relatively high. I wonââ¬â¢t sugarcoat this: Itââ¬â¢s not easy to improve your GPA, and it only gets more difficult as high school goes on.If youââ¬â¢re a freshman or sophomore, you still have time to make significant changes.If youââ¬â¢re a junior, you should probably focus more on improving your test scores.Relative to time spent studying, test scores are the easiest way to improve your chances at college admission.They will be given about as much weight in the admissions decision as your GPA for most schools. If you can manage really good scores, you will have a much better chance of getting in even if your GPA is below average for admitted students. I would say there are three main things that you can do if you want to make your GPA better in the eyes of colleges: #1: Take Increasingly Harder Classes This may seem paradoxical. Wonââ¬â¢t your GPA go down if you take harder classes?Well, yes, the numbers might go down, but your GPA will be more impressive to colleges if it was earned in challenging classes.Try to level up as you progress through high school to show that you're willing to work hard for your grades.You should only follow this advice if your GPA is already good by the numbers but you arenââ¬â¢t taking difficult classes.If youââ¬â¢re struggling with your current course load, donââ¬â¢t risk moving up and failing a class!Itââ¬â¢s your job to understand and respect your limits in terms of stress and time spent on schoolwork. #2: Ask for Extra Help A mistake that many struggling students make is that they donââ¬â¢t ask for help from their teachers.I understand that asking for help isnââ¬â¢t always easy - I know that I myself avoided it for years, and it only hurt me.Asking for help is the SMART thing to do, and itââ¬â¢s going to allow you to get the individual attention you might need in order to understand concepts better.Your teachers will appreciate that youââ¬â¢re making an effort, and you will most likely come away feeling more optimistic about your ability to grasp the material.This is going to be one of the best ways to see a significant positive effect on your grades. #3: Stick to a Schedule and Stay Focused Easier said than done, right?But if youââ¬â¢re serious about improving your grades, this is the bottom line.Procrastination and lack of studying may be hurting your grades more than your academic ability.If you always do everything the night before for "long-term" projects or just glance over your notes briefly before tests, you may need to reassess your habits. Casually reading over the stuff you need to know doesnââ¬â¢t count as legitimate studying unless you go back and verify that you've absorbed it.Think critically about your study habits, and see if there are any areas where you can improve. If you need to create a schedule for yourself in order to keep up with your goals, go for it. All you need is a calendar and some glue. That's how this works, right?
